At the inauguration of the new water supply building in Kamza, Prime Minister Edi Rama said that within this year some cities in the country will have water 24 hours.
According to the prime minister, this will end a centuries-old problem in the country. Rama admits that during the transition many funds were cut into segments of electoral interests, never managing to invest in this system.
Rama further stressed that the Water Supply has turned into an enterprise that employs militants, cronies and cousins, as he said, while emphasizing that it should end.
“Water supply has historically been an enterprise to hire militants, cronies, cousins no matter what they were created for. Not only that, pro water companies due to mismanagement are with more debts in the republic. A large part of them continue to accumulate. The amount of debt is greater than that of OSHEE. This cannot continue like this. They can be nothing but full capacity enterprises. In this respect we have positive examples as a result of the support of the German and Swiss governments.
He cannot deserve to be left in the wrong hands. This old behavior has created a lot of costs. The last thing I want to say today is that water reform which on paper is very clear needs a new push forward. They can not be enterprises that are kept with loan flour, “ said Rama.
