RESULTS TOMORROW

COMPETITION
The incumbent chairman of the Democratic Party, Basha, is challenged in the elections within the party by three candidates, Agron Shehaj, Fatbardh Kadilli and Edit Harxhi.
Democrats hold internal party elections after losing the April 25th general parliamentary elections where Edi Rama secured a third term in office. Lulzim Basha has considered the elections an “electoral massacre” claiming for manipulation and vote-buying. Lulzim Basha has been leading the PD for almost 8 years.
He was elected party leader in 2013 after the resignation of Sali Berisha, while he was confirmed in a second term in 2017.
