NOTICE FROM THE MINISTRY OF INTERIOR:
Over 130 illegal constructions have collapsed along the country’s coastline by the National Inspectorate of Territorial Defense. The Minister of Interior, Bledi Çuçi, makes a balance with the data of the first phase of the operation “Our Coast”, while the State Police for three days continues the control in the beach stations to identify the occupied spaces.
In the first phase of the operation “Our Coast”, the National Inspectorate of Territorial Defense, along the entire coastline from Velipoja to Ksamil demolished over 130 illegal constructions, and imposed fines of about 132 million for 86 entities. Dozens of people have been arrested and others are being prosecuted. Not everything is over here and we will not stop the work for the liberation of the coast from the occupiers. For three days, the State Police, following this operation, is conducting checks to identify those entities that are illegally using the beach spaces. We have an obligation to protect this common property of ours and to bring to justice the transgressors. After the coast, IKMT and the State Police will continue the work for cleaning the territory from illegal constructions in other areas of the country. Find a free square, occupy it and build it without permission, so that no one thinks about it anymore “, says Minister Çuçi.
Operation “Our Coast” began in early June. Following the recent amendments to the Criminal Code, the punishment for those who build without permission has been toughened. For the first time, the law provides penalties not just for the entity, but for the entire construction chain. In terms of territorial control and protection, Albania is expected to enter a new phase through the use of super-intelligent drones and other high-tech equipment.
