The Chief of the National Emergency, Skënder Brataj, commented on the protest of the white T-shirts, saying that they cannot be treated as criminals.
According to him, in 99% of the cases when doctors are imprisoned, they turn out to be innocent. He said there are no doctors waiting to pay them without giving them the help they need.
“White shirts have been a problem. Many times political institutions, or whoever they are, solve it by catching the doctor and putting him in prison, when in 90% of cases they have been acquitted. For everything, you have not documented, verified. In every field there are people who are typical of one thing, for the two arrested colleagues I have never heard of, so I do not agree with the way they were treated. You cannot charge a doctor for 50 thousand lek, while for more serious things he leaves them free. Albanians have their eyes and things are going well. We cannot rush the white shirt and treat it like criminals when we are in their hands. Even if there are no emergencies and pandemics, the conditions must be created for Albanian doctors, not only economically, but also professionally, to be treated with all the necessary equipment. “I do not think there is a doctor today who expects you to pay them, without giving them help”, said Brataj in News 24.
