US Ambassador Yuri Kim reacted to the SPAK operation, where Lushnja Mayor Fatos Tushe and 11 other employees were arrested.
In a post on social media, Kim writes that no one is above the law and that the time has come for everyone to think about whether it is worth going to jail.
“If you are involved in corruption, no matter how powerful you think you are now is the time to consider the impact your actions will have on your family and your country. It’s time to consider whether it is worth going to jail. Now is the time to stop. “No one is above the law.” writes the ambassador.
Tushe was arrested by order of the Special Prosecution because he is suspected of having issued a construction permit in violation of the law.
Also, a tender worth 24 million ALL is the violation that has led today behind bars the mayor along with 11 other people with their officials, former officials and businessmen.
