For the first time in Albania, the launch of the 10,000 lek banknote has started, which will keep the portrait of Asdren, the renaissance who wrote the text of the Albanian Anthem.
“On Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at 11:00, in the premises of the Bank of Albania will be organized the presentation of two consecutive denominations of the new series of Albanian banknotes, respectively 1000 Lekë and 10000 Lekë”, announces the Bank of Albania.
On June 15, these cuts will start circulating.
In the premises of the Bank of Albania will be presented the banknote of 1000 lek and the novelty, the banknote of 10,000 lek.
Meanwhile, during 2021, the new 2000 lekë banknote is expected to be put into circulation, as the 200 and 5000 lekë banknotes were launched on the market on September 30, 2019.
