An as yet unidentified Albanian has appeared in the wiretaps of the mafia boss Toto Riina. Italian media have published some new wiretaps in connection with the mafia killings that took place in Palermo in the ’80s and’ 90s ordered by the infamous mafia boss Toto Riina.

He is clearly mentioned in the wiretaps of “Capo dei capi” as an explosives expert and the question raised by the Italian media is which murder the mysterious Albanian was involved in and why he was not identified or arrested.
The published wiretaps were carried out in 2013 when Riina was in prison, but they were made in order to reveal new facts about how the Sicilian mafia worked. There Riina confessed to his fellow prisoners the murders and executions of rivals or of prosecutors and judges.

Anti-mafia investigators suspect that the “man who came from Albania” is related to the murder of Judge Rocco Chinnici. This is because when Riina talks about this issue, she says that she talked to “Nino” about “placing the car near the door”.
