The American Dustin Poirier won with “Technical KO” (stop of the duel by the doctor after the first round) against the Irishman Conor McGregor, a lightweight and valid challenge for the UFC 264 event, held this morning in Las Vegas.
This was the third challenge between the two athletes. In the final seconds of the first round, the Irishman injures his left ankle, badly putting his foot on the carpet. Endless pain for McGregor, who defends the remaining 5-6 seconds of the round, while the challenge no longer starts, as the referee decides to interrupt the meeting.
McGregor (22 wins, 6 losses) wants the duel to have no winners, but the referee decides Poirier’s triumph (28 wins, 6 losses and 1 match without a result), giving success to the American, who thus has the opportunity to duel for the title of light weight.
