The sources from where they are supplied, the place where the water is collected is not sufficiently protected and the water supply network does not meet the standards and there is always the possibility of poisoning. “There were rain showers 3 days before the poisoning and the water may have been contaminated,” Tola told Fax News.
Asked why laboratory tests still do not reveal the cause, the doctor said that the reasons are multiple, starting with the time when the samples were taken because it could be temporary contamination and the number of bacteria may have been small.
“The condition of the laboratories is good and the samples are being analyzed and also the organization of medical services has been very good. It should be said that not only in Deçan there are places where people gather near the water supply or animals and this should not always be considered as a cause. “However, we will probably never be able to find out the real reason for this mass poisoning,” Tolaj concluded.
