Kosovo Police has arrested an official of the Forest Agency in Deçan, who is suspected of abuse of office. His arrest is suspected to be related to the case of poisoning of about 1,500 citizens in the villages of this municipality. The news was confirmed for Telegraf by the spokesman of the Basic Prosecution of Peja, Shkodran Nikçi.
“A KPA official at the MPMHI based in Deçan was detained for abuse of office, while he was performing his official duties as a forester in the lava ‘Deçan Gorge’. “Investigations are underway to see if this case has anything to do with the water issue in the municipality of Deçan”, he said.
The National Institute of Public Health in Kosovo (IPHK) announced that after the analysis performed, some bacteria have been identified that may give an indication for contamination of drinking water.
