The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti this Monday participated in the first meeting of the Working Group for the Institute for crimes committed during the recent war in Kosovo.
In front of the audience, Kurti said that we do not have the luxury to make mistakes this time.
“We do not have the luxury of making mistakes this time, we do not have the opportunity to experiment and fail with our experiments, that is why it is essential to join forces and support each other, all of us. “The goal of all of us is common and has to do with the institutionalization and protection and preservation of the collective memory”, said Kurti.
The Prime Minister stressed that peace requires justice but also rehabilitation. On the other hand, the Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu said that documentation plays a key role in creating open and fair societies.
“Documenting war crimes has helped to create a collective memory, to prosecute the perpetrators of the crime, to identify the victims me These are practical measures that deal with the past”, said Haxhiu.
The Minister said that such initiatives play a crucial role for justice.
Haxhiu added that the Assembly has approved the Amendment aimed at removing obstacles for the Special Prosecution to address war crimes.
