Prime Minister Albin Kurti this Tuesday gave details about the situation created by the fires in Kosovo.
Kurti admitted that there are not enough firefighters, he said that municipalities endangered by fires are being helped by neighbors to cope with the situation with the spread of fires.
However, Prime Minister Kurti stressed that these municipalities have sufficient equipment within the Fire Brigades.
“It is evident that the municipalities do not have a sufficient number of firefighters, although they may have enough equipment and neighboring municipalities are helping these municipalities that are most at risk. I am in constant contact with the mayors and with the opportunities we have we are doing our best “, he said.
Among other things, Kurti said that keeping these fires under control poses a major challenge for Kosovo.
“We as institutions are now being mobilized to the maximum. We have asked for the help of the KSF, and even KFOR. I believe that keeping these wildfires under control poses a great challenge for our state. We have managed so far not to have major material damage and especially damage to people“, Said among others Kurti.
