“Representation of Albanian women in political life in Montenegro”, published some time ago by the young author, Kristina Margjonovic, is a reflection of the situation in this area and the role of women in society.
The book is published in Albanian and, in addition to reflecting the normative solutions for equal representation and women’s participation in political life, draws attention to the need to advance the situation in this area, in particular, in the bodies of representation and decision-making, with data comparative over a long period.
This paper, using numerous data from the implementation of parliamentary democracy in Montenegro, shows the inadequate representation of the female population in the representative bodies, starting from the decision-making bodies at the local level to the highest one.
Also, the warning is drawn to the strengthening of the implementation of the Constitutional and legal solutions in the protection and advancement of women’s rights, with what role and position of women in society would be at the highest level.
Therefore, it represents an appeal of its kind for additional engagements of society in general, in the implementation of standards in the affirmation of the female population, in particular, in the processes of democratization and integration into the wider European society.
This work, the author of which is a professor, specialist in English literature and language, was published in the well-known publishing house “Fiorentia”, Shkodra.
