Besnik Bislimi, Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo has asked Albania to eliminate the payment on “Rruga e Kombit” for tourists from Kosovo. Whereas, Minister Blendi Klosi said that Albania will do everything possible to make the Albania-Kosovo tourist offer a reality.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi and the Minister of Infrastructure, Liburn Aliu received today in a meeting the Minister of Tourism of Albania, Blendi Klosi.
Bislimi said that they have submitted a request to find a solution for the tax that tourists pay in Albania for “Rruga e Kombit”.
“Our request to find a solution, at least temporary, to eliminate the temporary obligation to pay for the tunnel in Kalimash because this is causing delays. The road from Kosovo to destinations in Albania and vice versa should be as easy as possible. “A solution must be found to eliminate the obligation to pay for the tunnel in Kalimash, which is causing delays for our tourists, who flock to Albania, especially for short-term vacations”, said Bislimi.
However, Minister Klosi spoke only about the importance of promoting joint tourism, not mentioning the 5 euro tax paid in Kalimash.
“For both our governments it is a joint decision that tourism is not just a pleasure, it is an important contributor to our economy and budgets. Therefore, we will do everything to make the Kosovo-Albania offer a reality. The sea belongs to all Albanians and the mountains should also look at the offer. It is unforgivable to have borders even in the mountains. We spoke clearly that our parks are parks that do not recognize the administrative border “, said Klosi.
Klosi showed that Albania will do everything possible to make the Albania-Kosovo tourist offer a reality.
“We must understand that the wealth that nature has given us on both sides is the wealth of all Albanians. The sea belongs to all Albanians, as are the mountains. Albanians from all Albanian-speaking lands should consider the Kosovo-Albania tourist offer. We have many tasks to accomplish to make life as easy as possible for every tourist and every investor. “Our parks on both sides of the border are parks that do not recognize the administrative border.”
He said that “we really want the border to be a moment of relaxation and not an obstacle to doing business”.
“We will be together to offer a joint tourist offer”, stressed the Albanian Minister, Blendi Klosi.
Whereas, the Minister of Infrastructure of Kosovo, Liburn Aliu, said that in addition to tourism, they also discussed waste treatment.
“We will be dealing with joint groups on national issues. Therefore, in our cooperation we will create working groups and will achieve the goals of the signed memoranda where during June there will be various activists involved in the activity for cleaning the lake of Vërmicë ”.
