Ambassador Yuri Kim stated after the meeting with Chief Prosecutor Olsian Çela in Pogradec that the focus of the discussion was justice reform. She said it is very important to investigate electoral crimes so that victims and offenders get what they deserve.
“They have played an important role in justice reform in Albania. We wanted to see how they were going and what we could do to provide more support.
The prosecutor and I talked about the importance of prosecuting electoral crimes. In cases where there are crimes victims should get what belongs to them and offenders should be punished. We also talked about the importance of maintaining this role of prosecutors“, Declared Kim.
When asked about the “hot week that awaits Albanian politics”, where the dismissal of President Meta is expected, Yuri Kim said:Today I wanted to focus only on justice and victim coordinators”.
