The Greek juvenile prosecutor’s office is examining the case for the custody of the 11-month-old child of Charalambos Anagnostopoulos and Caroline Crouch, where the latter was killed by her husband.
Little Lydia, Caroline Crouch’s daughter to stay in Alonissos for a few days, following the interim court decision to grant custody to the mother’s parents, however it is not known if her father, though in prison, will be able to seek contact with his daughter. From the interim decision, any rights have been taken away from the perpetrator of the serious crime in Glyka Nera, but his parents were not excluded, who will have the opportunity to see the little one in Alonissos every month for a certain week and hour.
As he explains to protothema.gr lawyer Katerina Mavroidi, who has been summoned to court several times to deal with similar child victim cases, the case of little Lydia does not end with an interim court decision, as there are many issues that need to be resolved immediately.
“Recently, the order of the Prosecutor was issued, according to which, the custody of little Lydia was temporarily assigned to the victim’s family and in parallel with this order, the parental care was temporarily removed from the father. In principle, the order issued by the Prosecutor in relation to little Lydia is temporary and he has the obligation to refer the case to the competent Court within a period of one month, which will decide on both cases with a final decision. However, important clarifications need to be made regarding the abolition of parental care and the communication of a minor child “.
According to the lawyer, Caroline’s killer, although he may lose parental responsibility with the final court decision, will be able to regain it again by law.
“The abolition of parental care simply becomes inactive, as it remains inactive for a period of time. Consequently, he retains by law the opportunity to regain the right to parental care for his minor child over time and depending on the changes that will occur. In any case, even in the final decision of the Court, which will remove the parental responsibility from the killer, he confesses the right to revoke or reform the final decision of the competent Court ”.
The father of the minor, Babis Anagnostopoulos, was arrested a few weeks ago, more than a month after he strangled his wife and tried to hide the crime, fabricating a robbery. The pilot killed his wife after the latter had filed for divorce. He told a fabricated story involving Albanians, but only two days ago it was revealed that the person behind the serious crime was the 32-year-old himself.
