The Danish Parliament approved the draft law which provides for Denmark to accept refugees in camps built outside Europe.
It is said that the draft law, which was last discussed and approved today in parliament, along with the Social Democratic Party that constitutes the government was also approved with the support of right-wing and far-right parties.
70 parliamentarians voted for the approval of the draft law, while 24 parliamentarians voted against the draft law.
The Danish government under the law will keep refugees seeking asylum in Denmark in refugee camps abroad until the situation is clarified.
Those arriving in Denmark as refugees, but also those whose application is rejected, will be sent to these camps.
Danish Migration Minister Mattias Tesfaye said in a statement last month that Denmark would set up refugee reception camps outside Europe.
Tesfaye also said that some countries see this opinion of Denmark “positively” and in April he paid a visit to Rwanda.
During the visit, two agreements on the refugee issue were signed between Denmark and Rwanda.
