The communication application Telegram on Friday launched the option to make group video calls on mobile and desktop, something promised since April 2020.
Voice group chats on the platform can be converted to video chats by clicking the camera icon.
Telegram says that an unlimited number of users can participate in audio calls only but those videos are limited to only 30 people.
But the company plans to raise that limit soon. Users also have the option of sharing their screens during a video call.
Telegram CEO Pavel Durov had said in January that the app had 500 million active users and a large portion of them came from rivals like WhatsApp after the approval of the new privacy policy.
In addition to group video calls, Telegram introduced new options such as background noise reduction and animated backgrounds. / PCWorld Albanian
