Former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu left his official residence in West Jerusalem this morning, a month after losing his post to his successor Naftali Bennett.
After him, all vehicles belonging to the official convoy left the residence. His departure after 12 years comes after the agreement between Netanyahu and Bennett last month to vacate the residence on July 10-11.
Netanyahu left after Israel signed an agreement to remove the prime minister. On June 2, this agreement was signed where the opposition parties will run the country in rotation. The right-wing Yamina party leader Naftali Bennett will lead first, followed by Yair Lapid, the leader of the central Yesh Atid party.
Netanyahu’s family will relocate to their private home in Caesarea in northern Israel until they renovate their apartment on Gaza Street in West Jerusalem where he lived until 2009 when he became prime minister.
