Bekim Çollaku, former Minister of European Integration, said that the dialogue process between Kosovo and Serbia is not focusing on the main point, that of mutual recognition.
He said that in Brussels they expressed disappointment regarding the last meeting of the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti with the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic.
“From my sources, in Brussels they are disappointed with what happened in the second round, the request for a declaration of peace and the act of donating books. The goal is to have serious discussion. Miroslav Lajcak said that we have not made any progress. I think that Kurti’s strategy is to maintain the ‘status quo’ and take an initiative from the Kosovo side to put the other side on the defensive. “This does not bring anything to the achievement of the primary goal”, declared Collaku in Rubicon.
“We are far from starting to discuss issues such as the final agreement and we are dealing with settlement issues. There is no interest in reaching an agreement from either party or the mediator. Seeing the lack of political will, the EU also chose to be satisfied with these meetings. “We have not seen any promises or intentions if an agreement is reached.”
Çollaku stressed that the greatest success of the dialogue process for 2021 will be only the resumption of this process.
