The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Donika Gërvalla, continued the discourse against the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), saying that they were members of this military force that committed murders during the post-war period. As in previous statements, this time too Gërvalla for the Swiss newspaper ‘NZZ' has demanded “justice for all”.
“Gervalla-Schwarz wants many post-war killings in the country to be solved. After the withdrawal of Serb troops, they were carried out mainly by members of the Kosovo Liberation Army, KLA. “The victims were Serbs, Roma and Albanians opponents of the KLA,” the article reads.
The Kosovar chief diplomat blames the judiciary and previous powers for not resolving the post-war murder cases, while it is mentioned in the same paragraph that Prime Minister Albin Kurti has opposed the Special Court.
“Together with others, I have repeatedly demanded that post-war political killings be fully investigated,” Gërvalla-Schwarz told NZZ, while seeking justice exclusively for Albanians, Serbs and Roma.
The deputy prime minister had made similar statements years ago, accusing former KLA leaders of allegedly killing political opponents during the post-war period. Meanwhile, he then promised to testify if a court was set up to try them.
“Within the possibilities I have, I will definitely look for materials in Specials. Yes I have material. We have a speaker of parliament whom I call more shameful than Thaçi who is president. The whole world knows who Kadri Veseli is and the whole world knows who Hashim Thaçi is. “Kadri Veseli was the head of the organization that committed crimes against political opponents”, she had declared.
After numerous criticisms of anti-KLA statements, including opposition initiatives and conferences, Gërvalla-Schwarz once again made contradictory statements, saying he would seek justice for all, regardless of nationality differences.
“I will never stop seeking justice for all victims in Kosovo, regardless of political affiliation, gender, nationality or function of victims and perpetrators of crime,” she wrote on Facebook, a few days after the continuing criticism in address of the chief diplomat.
The prime minister also defended the second most important person after Kurti, calling the criticism a “campaign against her”.
“Yesterday, it seems that a campaign started against my deputy and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Donika Gërvalla, with the thesis that she does not respect the KLA. It is interesting that this campaign did not start when Mrs. “Gërvalla came to our electoral list even when he was appointed minister, but now that he has returned from a successful visit to Brussels”, Kurti had said.
These statements touch on the political entity represented by the former KLA leaders. The PDK, through a conference, demanded the dismissal of the chief diplomat. The head of the PDK Parliamentary Group, Abelard Tahiri, had said at the conference that all were witnesses of Minister Gërvalla's commitment to denigrate the KLA war.
“I saw the commitment of the Minister of Foreign Affairs in denigrating the KLA war, today she continues to insult the KLA war, our brightest cause, insulted the victims who fell for the freedom and independence of the country, the women of raped during the war in Kosovo and our greatest sacrifice “, said Tahiri. /Express newspaper
