Extreme high temperatures, which appeared since the beginning of the week in the western states of the US, continue to negatively affect the lives of the inhabitants of this part.
As the U.S. National Weather Service warns of the risk of death due to extreme heat, which has affected 50 million people in the west and south of the country, California, one of the countries most affected by the heat, has declared a state of emergency.
California Governor Gavin Newsom stated that average air temperatures are around 43 degrees Celsius.
Climate scientist Park Williams of the University of California has warned of drought in the region.
In the national park, known as the “Dead Valley”, the warmest place in the country, temperatures have risen to over 54 degrees Celsius.
In addition to California, warnings have been issued that temperatures reach record levels every day in neighboring states such as Arizona, Utah, Montana and Idaho, and that extreme high temperatures will be dangerous over the weekend.
