On June 19, Mexican media reported 3 bodies half-naked and with their heads covered, hanging in Fresnillo. Authorities believe that after the murder they are members of the SInaloa Cartel, after they came across film footage where they were seen interrogating members of the Jalisco Nueva Generation Cartel. This organization, led by Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera Cervantes, has extended its control to 35 states of Mexico and Puerto Rico.
Police said a message was left on each body, one hanging from the legs and the other two from the head. At least one of them was a minor.
Violent gang war broke out in October last year, when the head of the Sinaloa Cartel, Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada, vowed to take control of the entire territory claimed by Jalisco. He took over the organization after El Chapo was eventually convicted, but is also aided by the sons of the infamous trafficker. The culmination of the bloody clashes came in January, when 250 people were massacred within a month, while in western Mexico, 2,938 people lost their lives last year due to gang conflicts.
