Italy is the winner of the 16th edition of the European Championship. Wembley final was decided by penalties, as regular time and extra time ended in a 1-1 draw.
The match started with a goal. England scored in the second minute. A cross by Trippier and Luke Shaë was the only one in the other corner of the goal to put the ball into the net.
The Manchester United defender scored alone inside the area on the second post, hitting the ball: the ball touched the post and surprised Donnarumma.
England took the reins of the game in hand and could have scored the second goal as well. Italy, shocked by the quick goal, enters the game after the 25th minute. To mention the case of Chiesa, who for a few centimeters does not find the gate.
The second part starts well for friends. Good minutes for the axes, prove, Pickford is impassable. But not in the case of the 68th minute, when Bonucci punishes. The Italian defender pushes the ball into the net just 2 meters away.
