Various experts have repeatedly stressed that we should leave the tea leaves in the water for a few minutes, that we should never press the bag on the inside of the cup because that way all the bitterness is released, or we add milk.
However, there is another mistake some of us make when making tea, which is often overlooked: boiling water back into the hybrid. This is something that destroys the drink, as it removes the oxygen and nitrogen needed to extract its aroma and taste. “Usually, when the tea cools down, people boil the water left in the pot again and make another cup.”, says William Gorman, a tea expert. He adds: “But all you can do is offer yourself a cup of tasteless tea. “Fresh water is needed because boiling again gets all the oxygen and nitrogen from it.”
A better option seems to be to place the mug with the now cold tea in the microwave until it returns to the right temperature. “The only thing a microwave oven does for tea, from a scientific point of view, is to move its molecules and turn it to a suitable temperature. It does not affect the taste at all “, explains Gorman.
Other experts also point out that placing milk in your cup before water will lower the temperature and hinder proper boiling production. Also, the time we leave the tea leaves or bag in the water is proportional to everyone’s tastes, but it should remain at least three minutes.
