Guitarist Eric Clapton will not play in clubs or concert halls where anti-Covid vaccination is required.
According to local media, the news was announced by Clapton himself, following the instructions of the British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, where every person who will go to the concert or to the club must present the proof that he has been vaccinated.
“After the announcement made by the Prime Minister on Monday, July 19, my honor forces me to make an announcement myself. I want to tell everyone that I will never play on any stage in the presence of a discriminated audience. If it is not possible for everyone to be able to attend the concert, I reserve the right to cancel my performancesSaid Clapton.
Clapton said he had a “catastrophic experience” with the AstraZeneca vaccine. His decision could also include Italy, where Clapton will perform next year with stops in Milan and Bologna, while he has several concerts in the United States starting next September.
Thus, the British artist takes a position opposite to that of Bruce Springsteen who will seek a fully vaccinated audience for his next Broadway performances.
