Coca-Cola has insisted that ‘everyone has a right to their drink preferences’ after Cristiano Ronaldo removed their two bottles from a press conference at Euro2020.
The 36-year-old obsessed with health felt offended after fizzy drinks were placed in front of his desk in front of an interview yesterday – so he removed them and told fans to ‘drink water’ instead.
Now, the billion-dollar beverage firm – which sponsors the tour – has responded, firmly acknowledging that everyone has their own ‘tastes.
‘Players are offered water, along with Coca-Cola and Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, upon arrival at our press conferences,’ a spokesman added.
