Video of Prime Minister Rama a few days ago removing debris at a sports field in Vlora made the rounds of social media.
Dritan Leli himself in an interview for Ora Verore says that the situation of waste management is not the best possible but there is continuous progress in this regard.
Leli jokes among the jokes that “like in every big house, if you go to check and the cleanest woman will find you, you will find a corner where the dust has not been cleaned yet”.
Leli: The city lives as a whole and the contribution must be multifaceted. The working municipality and the citizens who are responsible for doing their best. It is no longer the same situation it was 6 years ago. There are endless problems, especially on peak days, Saturdays and Sundays sometimes it becomes impossible to process all the volume of waste produced by the city. There is always much left to improve.
As in any big house, if you go to check and the cleanest woman will find you, you will find a corner where the dust has not been cleaned yet. For the good fortune of the city and for the consolidation of the future, thanks to the regulated waste management program supported by the German government, we are working and we are in important stages of the development of the Sherishta landfill project, with which we will have a final disposal of garbage that after 30 years are still in the city center.
We will replace all the garbage bins in the city, in the tourist and historical area we will use the underground bins and we will have a new fleet and weapons for waste processing. As mayor, my call would be that if 200 thousand citizens of Vlora would be in front of 200 cleaning workers of Vlora, the citizens will win the war. We need to be careful and cooperative in dumping garbage in the designated location. During the summer season the work triples.
