In the early months of the pandemic, people were looking for an invitation to use the audio communication app, Clubhouse, to get a chance to hear from some of the most vocal capitalists, tech leaders and celebrities.
The Clubhouse has already decided to open to everyone. From Wednesday those who will register at the Clubhouse will no longer be required to be invited and apply not only to users in the US but worldwide.
The platform was launched in March 2020 just when the global Covid-19 pandemic started and many of us had stayed home. In January 2021 the platform was valued at $ 1 billion.
The Android app launched in May has exceeded 10 million downloads. The decision to open the platform already without the invitation system comes at a time when competition from rivals like Twitter and Facebook is increasing.
According to Sensor Tower, Clubhouse has had a significant drop in monthly iOS downloads from 9.6 million in February to just 719,000 in May. In total the app has 29.8 million downloads in the App Store and Play Store according to Sensor Tower. / PCWorld Albanian
