The Inter midfielder has been retired since leaving the hospital on June 18 but was seen in public today while being photographed with a fan.
Christian Eriksen has been photographed in public for the first time since he was released from hospital where he was treated for cardiac arrest that occurred during Denmark’s Euro 2020 match against Finland.
The Inter playmaker has been treated at the Rigshospitals in Copenhagen after he collapsed during the Group B match at Parken Stadium, and he has now been given a cardioverter defibrillator.
After being released from the hospital on June 18, Eriksen has returned home and continued his recovery in the family, but today is the first time he has appeared after the incident where he took a picture with a fan.
Since his release it has been said that he is staying in his hometown, in Odense, the 29-year-old has also been seen in the town of Tisvildeleje, 60 km or more from Copenhagen, after his team managed to win in the quarterfinals against the Czech Republic, reports Express newspaper.
He was seen being photographed with a fan, Bjorn Bindzus, who was shooting an ad near the beach area, whose photos he later downloaded on Instagram. In the photo, Eriksen appears to be in good health while smiling in front of the camera.
“I was a little nervous and completely speechless when I asked him to take a picture. “But I am happy that I did it and I am much happier today,” Bindzus was quoted as saying by BT newspaper.
“We were in a photo shoot for an ad when I suddenly saw him eating lunch. So I waited until he finished his conversation with his girlfriend and we were photographed. “He told me right away.”
“I did not see the incident with Finland, but he looked better. It was really nice to see him. Most of the time when I watch football I watch the National Team and here without a doubt my favorite player is Christian Eriksen. “I am very proud of myself for taking this picture.”
After suffering in the first meeting against Finland where they were back on the field after a few hours when Eriksen suffered a heart attack, Denmark had a fabulous performance and are now in the semifinals of Euro 2020.
Although they lost to No. 1 in the World, Belgium in the second leg managed to win against Russia and advance to the knockout stages where they won 4-0 against Wales in the quarter-finals and against the Czech Republic in quarterfinals with a score of 2-1. Now they will be at Wembley in England in the semi-finals where they want to repeat their performance as at Euro 1992, where Denmark had surprised everyone and won the precious European trophy.
