The discussion “A Conversation with Young Leaders” by the Albanian Canadian Excellence Society (ACE) in Toronto, Canada, was organized last Thursday, June 24 through the platform “Zoom”. The invited panelists were four young graduates or towards the end of university, where they gave the floor and shared knowledge on four areas: entrepreneurship, law, engineering and finance. Already valuable contributors not only in professional life, but also in the Albanian community and beyond, Kristi Meta, Tea Haxhillari, Foti Vito, and Drini Kërçiku, managed to share with their peers the knowledge and skills required in today’s market very dynamic and competitive.
All four discussion youth have completed or are nearing completion of university study in Ontario; Kristi Meta graduated in Business from the University of Toronto, Foti Vito graduated in International Relations and Political Science from the University of Toronto, Tea Haxhillari graduated in Business and Accounting from Queens University in Kingtson, Ontario, and Drini Kërçiku is a student of Engineering and Robotics at the University of Toronto. They, in a conversation with the new moderator and activist of ACCE Grady Meta, shared the difficult moments, victories, losses, and their experiences that have positively impacted their short but significant career.
Participants in the discussion were about 40 individuals who learned about the guests and their experiences, having the opportunity for a question-answer section at the end of the event. The questions ranged from specific university programs, to the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has had in various industries, to the collaboration that panelists have had with the Albanian community in Canada. This event served as a great opportunity for high school students who are deciding on their future, university students who are constantly looking for job opportunities, or newly graduated young people looking for new experiences.
This panel served as an initiative of the “Student Association of ACE”, an innovation which will be in function of professional growth and creating connections between Albanian-Canadian youth, and beyond.
In a statement for the newspaper “Diaspora Shqiptare”, the organizer of this event important for the Albanian community here, Grajdi Meta stressed: “Thursday’s panel was received with great interest by all ages, returning from a conversation with four guests. in a conversation between participants and panelists. The purpose of this event was to engage young people in particular, a goal which was achieved given the number of participants and the dedication of everyone in the question-answer section. As I pointed out in my pre-event statement, this event is the first in a series dedicated to the professional growth of the younger generation and pre-university, undergraduate, and postgraduate students. ”
