Slovakia is expected to sell or donate the remaining Sputnik V vaccines to Western Balkan countries. Politico writes that out of 200 thousand doses that the country initially bought will donate the remaining 160 thousand doses, which expire at the end of July.
This will happen because the vaccination program with the Russian Sputnik V vaccine in Slovakia has been abolished. While these vaccines that have remained in stock, are expected to be sold or donated to four countries in the Western Balkans, in which we are also part. The four countries that can receive vaccine doses from Slovakia are Albania, Northern Macedonia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Since the beginning of vaccination in Slovakia, a total of 3.65 million doses of vaccine have been given, while only 1.61 million citizens have received the full dose.
