A website that aims to support the development of Bitcoin has been hit by a DDoS attack. Cobra, the anonymous owner of Bitcoin.org, reported on the social network Twitter on Monday that the website has been hit by a massive DDoS attack.
While DDoS attacks have targeted major cryptocurrency exchanges, Bitcoin.org is not a website that has information about users or their finances, but rather open-source Bitcoin blockchain information.
The website was the target of a similar attack in December. DDoS attacks on Binance, OKEx and Bitfinex took place last year. Binance CEO at the time said the attack was done by competitors to damage its reputation.
Bitcoin.org has been in a legal battle in England with the man who claims to have created Bitcoin, Craig Wright. A British court ruled in Wright’s favor and forced him not to allow Bitcoin Core to be downloaded by users with IP addresses in Britain. The links to Bitcoin’s white paper have even been removed. / PCWorld Albanian
