By order of the Deputy Minister of Civil Defense and Crisis Management, Nikos Hardalias, the island of Mykonos, in Greece, enters a deadlock.
From today, July 17 to July 26, movement will be prohibited after 01:00 until 06:00 in the morning, while music will be prohibited in bars 24 hours. These extreme measures on the island, at the peak of the tourist season, were taken after the disturbing outbreak of the pandemic.
The Civil Protection Notice is as follows:
From today Saturday 17/7 and due to the disturbing local outbreak of the epidemic during the last 24 hours, with numerous outbreaks and groups, the Government continues with the approval and implementation of special measures for the island of Mykonos.
More specifically:
Traffic ban from 01.00 in the evening until 06.00 in the morning, except for work reasons and serious health reasons.
Stop music for twenty-four hours, starting today at 6 p.m.
The measures are valid until Monday 26/7 at 06:00 in the morning with an intermediate reassessment of the epidemiological situation.
We urge islanders and visitors to implement the measures, as well as the island authorities to immediately activate information and control mechanisms for their observance, so that the spread of the virus and Mykonos can be controlled and soon the situation to return to normal.
