Five officers were killed Sunday (May 30th) when a helicopter belonging to anti-drug police crashed in a northern region of Colombia.
The event took place 15 km from Cantagallo, a town on the coast of Rio Magdalena.
Police leaders suspect that the cause of this accident was a technical defect, while emphasizing that an investigation commission has been set up for this issue.
The President, Ivan Duque, in a post on Twitter expressed his condolences for the death of 5 police officers.
The head of state added that an investigation will be opened to determine the causes of the accident.
Duque expressed his solidarity with the families of the police heroes, who as he says, gave everything for the country.
