It was originally postponed to November and now comes the decision to cancel the Australian Grand Prix in Formula 1. This will be the second year in a row that this race is canceled after last year where the race was canceled just hours before the start , when the first cases of coronavirus were confirmed.
The organizers of the Melbourne race announced that the race scheduled for November 21 has been canceled, due to the strict measures taken by the Australian government from the Covid-19 pandemic. Liberty Media has already started work on finding a track to replace it.
Liberty Media aims to hold 23 races this season, a record for Formula 1. The idea is to organize another race in Bahrain on November 21, seeing that one race will then take place in Saudi Arabia and one in Abu Dhabi.
We regret to announce that the 2021 #AusGP has been cancelled due to restrictions & logistical challenges relating to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.# F1 https://t.co/aDmCA8s6nx
