Former Greek Golden Dawn MP Christos Pappas was arrested on July 1st after hiding in the home of a 52-year-old woman from Ukraine.
According to Greek media, when the anti-terror unit rang the bell of the apartment where he was at around 9.30 pm, he knew that the “game” for him was over.
He himself, opened the door, dressed and arranged though a few pounds more and told the police: “Okay guys, I’m coming. “But you know that in the coming months I will give up.”
Over the past week, police have been monitoring the shelter with hermetically sealed shutters where Pappas was hiding. However, the former Greek Golden Dawn MP did not go outside at any point, and as neighbors point out, they have never seen him leave the house or move in the area.
After the arrest, Pappas was taken to the detention center on the 12th floor of the Attica Police General Directorate. He was sentenced to 13 years in prison for running a criminal organization.
