The singer who represented Albania this year in Eurovision, Angela Peristeri says that she was attacked by Albanians for her Greek origin.
She says there were many who labeled her a ‘traitor’, as her last name comes from Greek, but in fact the connection to Greece is distant, from an ancestor.
“I had a lot of fights from the Albanians for this, who told me you betrayed the homeland, because my last name is of Greek origin (meaning dove),” she said.
But, you can hardly blame the Albanians for the result you achieved in Eurovision.
