Albania has signed a 5G technology coordination agreement with the United States of America.
The news was announced by Prime Minister Edi Rama, who also held a joint conference with Secretary of State Antony Blinken. The latter praised the leadership of Prime Minister Edi Rama and said that he hopes that Albania will become an example for the agreements on the 5G network to spread to other Balkan countries.
During his short speech, Blinken stressed that the partnership between Albania and the United States is strengthening.
“Thank you for the work done together. We are setting a strong example of the need to work with trusted vendors when it comes to technology sensitive networks. We are grateful for the work that the US and Albania have done together and the Defender exercise. We look forward to taking your place on the Security Council. We have a lot to do is becoming a stronger partnership. We really appreciate your leadership, “said Blinken.
On the other hand, Prime Minister Edi Rama emphasized that it is an honor for Albania to be by the side of the United States of America.
“I appreciate it very much. We have asked others to join and make efforts for a safe communication corridor and to put this corridor in the hands of citizens and institutions and not allow them to be compromised by malicious third actors. It is an honor for Albania to be by your side. I hope that together we can convince other friends in the region to become part of this. We are grateful to have you as a partner and ally. ” said Rama.
Recall that a few days ago, the US Secretary of State signed the decision to declare “non grata” in the US former Prime Minister Sali Berisha and close members of his family. Berisha reacted harshly, calling the decision unfounded, and demanded the publication of the facts and evidence on which this decision was made.
Berisha also announced the filing of a lawsuit in one of the French courts for Secretary Blinken. In his reaction, former Prime Minister Berisha accused that the decision is a lobbying of George Soros and Edi Rama.
