In Albania, the Special Prosecution against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) announced in the evening that at its request, the Court has placed under “house arrest” former Deputy Minister of Interior Rovena Voda and two other persons, Majlinda Hasani and Florida Bey. , all three on the charge of “exercising illegal influence over persons exercising public functions”.
The issue belongs to the period when Ms. Voda was still in the position of Deputy Minister of Interior, until July last year. According to SPAK, it is suspected that she “has received and received monetary and material benefits from Ms. Hasani and Ms. Beu, in order to exert illegal influence on other persons holding public office to unfairly favor the Florida Beu citizen, so that the latter could be appointed , civil service employee in the executive category”.
According to sources from SPAK, it is learned that Ms. Beu has not been employed. Ms. Hasani, meanwhile, a lawyer by profession, is suspected of mediating Beut’s employment due to her friendly relations with the deputy minister.
Ms. Voda, was appointed to the post of Deputy Minister of Interior in 2017, having held this position for more than three years.
