The creation of a new railway line with a total length of about 130 km is in progress and will connect Greece with Albania.
Greek media, “Star.gr” reports that the Official Gazette of the European Union published the Declaration of Open Procedure for the Contract for the implementation of the evaluation and selection of the investor in the project.
The project is part of the joint strategic investment plan for the connection of Greece and Albania through the railway line from Krystallopigi (Florina) to Pogradec with a total length of about 130 km.
The initiative is part of the ERGOSE project, whose CEO Christos Vinis noted: “The project is about connecting Greece with the Balkans and Europe through railways. “This is another crucial step towards achieving the national goal of turning Greece into a regional hub for the logistics and transport sector in the region and beyond.”
