The head of the government Edi Rama said during his speech at the training ceremony “Defender 21” in Tirana, that the US ambassador Yuri Kim has given another quality to the relations between the two countries.
“It is a privilege that today, on behalf of the Government of Albania, I express my gratitude to all the military involved in this exercise, which is so significant in terms of its size and message. At the same time, I wish that in addition to and beyond the gratitude for all those who are involved in this exercise and that constitute the daily guarantee and security for Albanians and Albania, with their dedication and sacrifices, to express my gratitude to their families. I want to thank with gratitude all the military involved in this significant exercise from the US and all other countries and I want to give a special thanks to the representative of the US Government in Albania, Ambassador Yuri Kim, who with its commitment has given a new quality to the relations between the two countries, including in the first place in supporting the demands and needs of our country, whether in strengthening our defense capacities, or Justice. The trust that the USA has shown in the continuation of this partnership and great strategic alliance with small Albania, culminates with this military exercise, which is not coincidentally the largest exercise, with the most significant involvement that has ever occurred in the history of our region. I want to underline the fact that even this beautiful show to enable citizens to come and visit all this arsenal up close, would not be so today if it were not for the concrete US support for the continuous increase of capacities of the Albanian Army. I have a lot of confidence based on the conversations with the Generals, but also with the continuous interaction with Ambassador Kim that we will be able to take further steps in increasing the quality of quality resources of the Armed Forces by creating further confidence. Young people will increasingly see the FA address as a golden opportunity for training and their life after training. Creating a new academic capacity to increase the capacity of the Armed Forces is the joint mission of the Government and the US Representation in Albania. I am very grateful and grateful to all those involved in this process of transformation of the Armed Forces and this exercise does not end with its completion in due time, but will continue to influence all our military. I wish the friendship between Albania and the USA to be eternal and we to be side by side today tomorrow and foreverë ”, said Rama.
