It is the right of every Albanian citizen to react if he thinks that some injustice may have been done to him. Especially of a person with the stature of Sali Berisha, who has represented the country as Prime Minister and President.
But a simple person, unlike Sali Berisha, is not news like Sali Berisha.
The latter, being the dominant political figure of the last 30 years in the country, has resonance in Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia, but also in the world.
We saw this on Wednesday when everyone wrote about it. The only problem is the accusation made against Sali Berisha by the United States of America. She for corruption, which Berisha stopped for a long time to explain that since the day he signed for the first time in the payroll and until now he has never been accused by justice for any corrupt act.
The United States can have their reasons, their data, and everything else to make such an accusation. While Mr. Berisha and his children have been full of public accusations in the 8 years of government, where it is enough to see the multiplication of wealth in the annual statements that someone has even a small suspicion.
However, this argument may be part of an Albanian justice investigation. What is part of at least the intellectual honesty of those who attended Mr. Berisha’s press conference is the lack of answer to a question asked at least twice.
If the first time non-response can be seen as forgetfulness, in the second everyone raises the question of why Berisha bypassed the answer to a simple question: who would pay for Mr. Berisha’s defense in the lawsuit he will open against the US?
Such a trial, the court where Sali Berisha will go costs. It costs much more than his annual salary as an MP, benefits from the remaining posts, pension and everything else he can declare, put together. Therefore, if this is not a trial that Mr. Berisha said he would open to establish his dignity on corruption charges, the first thing he should do is show how he will pay for the trial. HOW
