The International Boxing Federation WBC has decided that the world heavyweight champion in this division, the British Tyson Fury, will defend the title against the American Deontay Wilder.
This decision came after the order of an American court, which made the decision for the two boxers to develop a third challenge between them, respecting the previous contract.
According to American media, this confrontation between Fury and Wilder will take place on July 25 in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, the court has set September 15 as the maximum date for the development of this challenge. If Fury rejects the trilogy, he will be severely fined.
The two boxers have duel two more times before. The first challenge ended in a draw, while in the second Fury won with “Technical KO”, snatching the American world champion title.
Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, the other world heavyweight champion, had agreed to duel on August 14 in Saudi Arabia, but now this challenge will be canceled. The two British boxers now have to wait another six months. Fury is unbeaten in his career, with 30 wins and 1 draw.
