How to remove nail polish from a carpet using acetone:
Of course, the first thing you need to do to protect your carpet is to take acetone. However, it is important to be gentle about the process. You need to make sure that you do not spoil your beautiful carpet, so first try acetone on a small, invisible part of the carpet to see how it reacts. If it’s okay, then you can move on.
If the nail polish is still wet, gently clean the excess with a towel. If it is already dry, try to remove as much of it as possible. Next, soak a cotton ball with acetone-free, dye-free nail polish remover and apply it to the area.
If acetone did not work, then it is time to take out the other weapons – hair spray and alcohol.
Spray the area with a little water, then add a little hairspray followed by a few drops of alcohol. It is recommended15 to 20 sprays of hair spray, then three to five small sprays of alcohol. Then take an old toothbrush and gently clean the stain making sure you are still adding cold water. When you are done, clean the solution from the carpet with a towel.
Using vinegar:
Distilled white vinegar is another product you probably have at home that can also help remove stains. Soak the stain with vinegar for 10 minutes, then use a toothbrush to gently clean the area.
