COMPARATIVE STUDY ON TOURISM POTENTIALS OF MONTENEGRO AND ALBANIA
The author Nexhat Avdiu has presented himself these days in front of the reader with the book “Development of tourism between Albania and Montenegro – opportunities for inter-Albanian and regional cooperation ”. The book is the author’s doctoral dissertation and is a comparative study on the tourism potentials of Montenegro and Albania and the possibilities of their use for the overall economic development of the two countries.
It is divided into six chapters, which deal with various issues related to the object of study. In the first chapter the author presents a theoretical approach to tourism as a development phenomenon and its current trends with their impact on the study area, in the second chapter makes a comparative analysis of the tourism potentials of Albania and Montenegro, in The third chapter gives the situation and tourism development in Albania and Montenegro, the fourth chapter talks about the opportunities for cross-border cooperation and their role in promoting tourism development, the fifth chapter deals with current issues and the future of tourism development in Albania and Montenegro, and in the sixth chapter tourism strategies and policies with their impact on the joint and special tourism development of both countries. At the end of the book, the author gives the conclusions and recommendations of his study. The book is based on a rich literature, which includes books from the field of tourism, strategies and various planning documents of the two countries, annuals, etc.
In the preface of the book, the author states that the paper “Development of tourism between Albania and Montenegro – opportunities for inter-Albanian and regional cooperation” aims to present the importance of tourism in both countries along with other branches of the economy.
“The main task of the study focuses on the fullest possible recognition of tourism potentials that both countries have and their assessment of the development of tourism that have followed both countries, influenced by various factors, as well as problems and development prospects. “they have, focusing on the Albanian factor as an opportunity for cooperation,” he said.
In his review, the scientific editor Prof. dr. Dhimitër Doka estimates that this book “comes at the right time and in the right place, when it is already clear to all the priority role of the tourism industry in the development of the economy of both countries (Albania and Montenegro) and the degree of its importance in this development ”.
The book was published by the Association of Artists and Intellectuals “Art Club” with the support of the Municipality of Ulcinj, and was printed at the Printing House IVPE – Cetina. The book is a quality publication with strong links. The scientific editor of the book is Prof. dr. Dhimitër Doka, while technical editor Gazmend Çitaku.
Nexhat Avdiu completed his higher studies in geography at the University of Tirana in 1997. At the same university he attended his master’s and doctoral studies, earning the scientific degree “Doctor” in geography in 2012. He works at the Combined High School ” Vëllazërim-Bashkim ”in Ulcinj. He has participated in several national and international scientific conferences. This is his first book.
