According to a European study on alcohol and disease Covid-19 which was conducted by scientists at the University of Technology in Germany, Greece and Albania recorded the largest decrease in alcohol consumption during quarantine.
The study, which was published by Daily Mail, focused on alcohol consumption in 21 countries of the old continent during the blockade and restrictive measures imposed by governments to stop the spread of the virus.
Albanians consumed on average less alcohol with a score of -0.37, while Greeks scored minus 0.2 and Finns minus 0.19.
The country with the highest increase in alcohol consumption in the world was the United Kingdom. After collecting data, researchers have failed to provide a clear explanation for the rise in alcohol consumption in the UK during the pandemic
