Pal Dreshaj, the president of the Albanian club “Deçiq” from Tuzi, Montenegro, who today will face the Kosovo runner-up in football, Drita in the Conference League competitions, speaking on the show “European Special”, has confessed the journey of the club he leads to the success of presenting Montenegro in international football competitions.
Dreshaj said that the club “Decic” for the first time after 95 years qualifies for UEFA competitions and for the first time in history were finalists of the Montenegrin Cup.
Further, Dreshaj says that they started working as a new management established by the municipality of Tuz two years ago which took over all the founding powers of the club which according to Dreshaj, until that year traveled in dark corridors and when it failed to to come to the surface and that until two years ago he had lost the identity of the region from which he came.
“We did not know that in Tuz there is an Albanian football team where even two years ago we were on the verge of extinction and for two years from the Second Category we climbed to the First Category and for two years we achieved these historic results.”
The head of the “Deçiiq” club says that the situation in Montenegro is more specific and it is not easy for a minority in a country to reach the top of the pyramid.
“Of course we have enthused the entire Albanian population in Montenegro and we have given them a hope that in other areas we can be at the top of this pyramid,” said Dreshaj.
