Apple supplier TSMC is preparing to produce the first 3-nanometer chips in the second half of 2022, and in the coming months the company will start production of 4-nanometer chips.
Apple, one of the company’s biggest customers, is the company which will get more attention with the production of these chips for the next Mac.
TSMC has also started producing the A15 chip for the iPhone 13 based on the improved 5-nanometer architecture.
Turning to the 3-nanometer chip, it will offer 15% more performance and 30% less power consumption as its mass production starts next year.
Although there is no information on when the new 3-nanometer chip will materialize in Apple products, it is still far away.
Currently Apple products like the iPhone 12 or Mac M1 processor, share the 5-nanometer architecture. / PCWorld Albanian
