Brave men like Adem Jashari are seldom born and he exceeds the size of a national hero, since the deed and the act of self-sacrifice with his whole family are unique and special events in the whole history of human civilization.
57 members of the Jashari family lost their lives in the battle of Prekaz against Serbian forces, during three days of fighting in March 1998 (March 5-7). Among them is Adem Jashari, who became a symbol of inspiration and resistance for Albanians.
Plisat, the fan group that supports Prishtina and one of the most ardent ultras groups in all Albanian lands, have launched a petition for the placement of the statue of Adem in the Dardan capital.
“Writing about the legendary commander Adem Jashari and the Jashari family is a privilege, but also a great responsibility. The work and sacrifice of the Jashari family is a unique work, a work which has sensitized many compatriots ̈ to join the Kosovo Liberation Army so that we can enjoy this freedom we have today.
Adem Jashari’s work has been honored in various forms since his heroic fall all over the world, but twenty-three (23) years after the war in the capital the statue of our national hero is still missing. Baca Adem deserves to be in Prishtina, alongside the heroes of his ideal.
From tomorrow, Friday 09/07/2021, Plisat will organize the petition for the establishment of the statue of the national hero Adem Jashari in Prishtina. The Plisa tent for petition will be placed near the Skanderbeg statue.
We invite all citizens of Kosovo to come to Pristina and join this petition. Welcome!“, Is read in the official communiqué of Plisa.
